What is Connections?
The NYT's daily word game has become a social media phenomenon. Associate puzzle editor Wyna Liu played a crucial role in creating and bringing this new word game to the publications' Games section. Connections can be enjoyed on both web browsers and mobile devices. Players are tasked with grouping four words that share a common element.Each puzzle presents 16 words, and these words are divided into four categories. These categories can range from book titles and software to country names. While multiple words may seem to fit together, there is only one correct answer.If a player correctly guesses all four words in a set, those words are removed from the board. However, making a wrong guess counts as a mistake, and players have up to four mistakes before the game ends.Players also have the option to rearrange and shuffle the board to make it easier to spot connections. Additionally, each group is color-coded, with yellow being the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple.
