The Erie County Sheriff’s Mounted Reserve Unit is set to hold its semi-annual food drive today at Market in the Square at the Southgate Plaza. This is an important event that showcases the unit's dedication and the community's support. The Sheriff’s Mounted Reserve Unit and their magnificent horses will be stationed in front of Market in The Square from 10 am until 1 pm for their food drive named "Mounted for Meals". During this drive, they will be collecting both perishable and non-perishable food items as well as cash donations. The collected donations will be generously given to The Response to Love Center. It is noteworthy that this year, there is a significant need for hams, potatoes, and diapers.

In 2023, the Erie County Sheriff’s Mounted Reserve Unit achieved remarkable results by collecting over 2000 lbs of food and over 00 in monetary donations during their two food drives. They are now looking forward to wrapping up 2024 with an even bigger collection of both money and food.
